Can life in the Hamptons get any sweeter or richer?

Yes, now that Armani/Dolci has enlightened me.  On Friday, at the Thomas Moran Trust benefit at the Maidstone Club tennis house, about 150 of us were treated to chocolates at the Armani/Dolci station.

Mechel Thompson—he's called a concierge, an accommodating title really, reassuring us we are in expert hands in the refined world of chocolates—presented and explained the Armani selection

I am by no means a chocoholic, but I enjoy a few bites of dark chocolate combined with plenty of local fresh fruit—berries or melon or peaches from East End farms—as my standard summer dessert.  I admit that in the past I’ve always been much more fussy about the fruit than the chocolate, but those days are now over.  I will end dinners only with something as stylish and delicious as Armani/Dolci.  We live in the Hamptons, after all, and it’s not a bad idea to have a designer label on your dessert tray as well as in your closet.

The chocolates are made in Florence and sold on the third floor of the New York Armani store on Fifth Avenue.
