Still thinking about what to serve? Jacques Franey, of Domaine Franey Wines on Pantigo Road in East Hampton gave me some tempting, last minute and cheerfully priced suggestions.
Argiolas Costamolino, Vermentino 2009, Sardinia - Bright, clean and refreshing nose. Zippy texture, taste of granny apples, pears and tangerine. Aperitif or with roast turkey and all the sides.
Schafer Riesling Classic 2007, Nahe - Very dry style, lots of crisp acidity, minerality. Great to maintain equilibrium with all the flavors in the many courses.
Molino, Langhe Rosso di Martina 2008 - A blend of barbera, nebbiolo, cabernet and merlot. Very fragrant aromas of earth, spice and small red berries. Pretty on the palate Refreshing style and great with the bird.
Regnie, Domaine des Braves 2009 - 2009 has produced some of the best Beaujolais in decades. Very fragrant. Super mid palate intensity with a superb balance of fruit, acidity and body. A wine that will perform well all day on Thanksgiving.
Argiolas, Schafer and Molino all $14.99, Regnie $16.99, plus a 15% discount on solid or mixed cases.
I'm giving thanks for good wine and being in the Hamptons.
