Schedule Changes Just in Case Hurricane Earl Shows Up

The Hampton Classic Horse Show is moving the $50,000 Spy Coast Farm Grand Prix Qualifier CSI from Friday afternoon to Thursday afternoon in anticipation of possible bad weather stemming from Hurricane Earl. The results of the Spy Coast Farm Grand Prix Qualifier CSI determine the lineup of horses and riders for the Hampton Classic’s main event, the $250,000 FTI Grand Prix and FEI World Cup Qualifier CSI-W, which is held on Sunday, September 5.

”Given that this is an FEI class, all horses must be in controlled quarantine stabling at least 24 hours prior to the class.  Therefore, this decision must be made today, even before we know for certain that the weather will be a factor,” said Hampton Classic Horse Show Executive Director Shanette Barth Cohen.  “By taking this step now, we can give all our competitors ample time to prepare and be sure that we hold this important class in suitable conditions and within the scope of FEI rules.”

The horse show is also instituting other schedule changes and the revised schedule for Thursday and Friday is available on the Hampton Classic website at www.hamptonclassic.com.
