Almond On the Move

Almonds were domesticated in the early Bronze Age, and were identified in Tutankhamun’s tomb.  In spite of this ancient history, the popular Bridgehampton restaurant, Almond, will close after ten years.

The owners, Eric Lemonides and Jason Weiner, are reported to be seeking a new location in the Hamptons after lease negotiations for the current site on Montauk Highway, west of the village, failed.  Over the years, Almond became a hangout as much as a food destination, a place where many of the patrons knew one another and lingered over long dinners and at the bar.

Sunday, December 5th will be their last night.  The Manhattan location, on East 22nd Street, continues as usual.
